About
The Flugnir Ride Time program is designed to recognize Flugnir members for the hours they put in riding their Icelandic horses. Riders can log hours wherever they ride Icelandic horses and earn recognition based on hours accumulated. The 2024 program year will run May 1-October 31 and will be a soft launch for Flugnir members to experience the program and offer feedback for the final program to be officially launched in 2025. The 2024 year will have no additional cost beyond your Flugnir membership. Hours in 2024 will not count towards lifetime totals. As soon as a participant is a Flugnir member and signed up for the program, hours may begin accumulating and will be submitted via a web form as frequently as a rider chooses to submit (per ride, week, month, year – your preference!). Participants will be asked for their feedback in November 2024.
Rules
Rider must be a Flugnir member in good standing at the time any hours are accumulated.
Hours may be accumulated on any Icelandic horse(s), either fully registered or having obtained a participation number from USIHC after being DNA verified. Registered horses do not have to be registered in the United States, any FEIF member country’s registry or WorldFengur is acceptable.
Horses need not be owned by the participants.
Paid riding time is not eligible. For example, a trainer or exercise rider may count rides on their own horses but not client horses.
2024 soft launch program runs May 1-October 31.
Hours may be logged beginning the day the application is received.
Hours must be entered in decimal format.
Participants will receive email prompts to submit hours via a web form once per month. Any hours not submitted may be added to the next month. Participants may choose to report all hours at once with the final prompt of the year.
